My Mother, Dorothy Ellen Salyers Snider died in her home on July 1, 2009. She had broken her right hip and had surgery. Then she went to a Rehab center. While she was there she developed Cidif and went into the hospital. Her kidneys began to fail so we decided to bring her home, with the doctors permission. They could not do anything else to help her and she was failing. We brought her home and took care of her until she passed. She was at peace and got to say goodbye to her family and her Christian brothers and sisters.

Mom was always a loving, sweet, giving person. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She always made people feel good abut themselves. She tried to impart her wisdom when she was asked for it. She was very wise and smart.

We will always hold her love close to our hearts. Her memories we will share.

most of my memorys of her is as a child, long ago we lived togather now and then, or as i remember we were allways togather. she was a wonderfull person, allways had a pos, side to things. i dont remember a time where she had a frown, but she had a smile, a hug, and a kiss, and words to make ya fill better, that was her.
and i remember her and mom allways talking about the old times, and laphter was allways in the talk. the singing, and at christmas time, we spent one christmas togaher and the cusins and i were all kids, very young, we even had a small tree in the one bedroon us kids slept in, and david and i rapped up some hard candy in toliet paper and put it under the tree, man, we didnt think about takeing it off the next day lol.
we were poor we didnt have any money and still dont, but we allways had love, till we grew up and every one found there place in life and things all changed. but the love was still there and allways will be.

FOR MOMMY

There's magic in a Mother's touch,
And sunshine in her smile.
There's love in everything she does
To make our lives worthwhile.
We can find both hope and courage
Just by looking in her eyes.
Her laughter is a source of joy,
Her words are warm and wise.
There is a kindness and compassion
To be found in her embrace,
And we see the light of heaven
Shining from a Mother's face.

AN INCOMPARABLE MOM!

A Sonnet for My Incomparable Mother

I often contemplate my childhood, Mom.
I am a mother now, and so I know
Hard work is mixed together with the fun;
You learned that when you raised me long ago.

I think of all the things you gave to me:
Sacrifice, devotion, love and tears,
Your heart, your mind, your energy and soul--
All these you spent on me throughout the years.

You loved me with a never-failing love
You gave me strength and sweet security,
And then you did the hardest thing of all:
You let me separate and set me free.

Every day, I try my best to be
A mother like the mom you were to me.
